About Us: Silver Mountain Marketing & The Testimonial Collector

At age 21, I graduated from college with a degree in Film and Television and immediately began working on short films and corporate videos. Unlike most of my peers, I was able to find work almost immediately after graduation and enjoyed a fruitful period of work in the film and television industry.

Most of my classmates, however, were not so lucky. Many of my peers were unable to find work and went for months (sometimes even years) before they were able to find a paying job in the industry. A few of these people never found work at all, gave up on their dreams, and eventually went to work in completely unrelated fields.

After just a few short months of working in the industry and seeing my film school friends fall to the wayside, I realized that as much as we had learned about filmmaking in school, none of it mattered if we didn’t know how to market ourselves and find work for the future.

After this realization, I started a company called Farview Point, which helps young filmmakers learn the skills that are necessary to successfully market and promote themselves and their work within the film and television industry. I also wrote a book titled, “Film School & Beyond” and with the book as an aid, have successfully guided hundreds of young filmmakers within the competitive entertainment industry.

At the same time that I was creating Farview Point, my father (who is a Chiropractor in the state of California) saw what I was doing with these young filmmakers and realized that like many of these young pupils emerging from film school without proper training in marketing and promotion, his Chiropractic practice was also lacking in these areas. As a result, my father hired me as the Marketing Coordinator for his practice and over the next two years I worked to build my father’s business to a point he never before imagined possible.

At a Chiropractic seminar in Los Angeles, my father sat down for lunch with a group of doctors from around the country and began talking to them about the current state of their practices. During that conversation, many of the doctors admitted to having businesses that were running below capacity and below their desired incomes. My father then brought up the work I had been doing for him and recommended that the doctors give me a call to see if I could help them with their marketing.

Before I knew it, I was doing the marketing for a number of doctors from around the country… and Silver Mountain Marketing was born.

(This is the interesting part, so pay attention!)

Now with an influx of clients vying for my attention and guidance, one of the first things I recommended to them all was that they start collecting testimonials from their patients, as these testimonials would be vital to the future success and overall prosperity of their practices.

After giving this assignment, most of the doctors really went to work and collected dozens and dozens of testimonials from their patients… and saw their practices flourish as a result. A few doctors, however, never collected even a single testimonial and their businesses never took off in the same way that the other doctors’ practices did.

In a conversation with one of my doctors who had failed to collect even a single testimonial (despite my constant requests), he revealed to me that the reason he hadn’t collected any testimonials was because he was afraid to ask his patients for their feedback and because he thought that the process of asking for the testimonial would be too time consuming for his already busy practice.

After that brief conversation, I knew I had to do something to make the process of collecting testimonials simple, automatic, and anything but time consuming.

The result of my efforts is what is now known as the Testimonial Collector – a testimonial generating system that you can easily implement into your current marketing campaign in order to collect superlative testimonials from your past and current customers… and then use the testimonials you’ve collected to increase your leads, boost your sales, and maximize your profits!
